Brain Stimulation

tDCS/tACS/TMS Simulator

    • Noninvasive stimulation is a form of neurostimulation and neuromodulation technique that activates neurons in the brain, noninvasively (without surgical insertion or incision). It appears to be somewhat effective for the treatment of neurological disorders. Although the efficacy of brain stimulation has been demonstrated, there remains a large degree of uncertainty regarding the factors influencing the affected brain area and relevant neural circuits. To provide a better understanding of the biophysical mechanisms, we performed computational studies to try to reveal the effects of a number of parameters that lead to variable outcomes.

Brain Stimulation with Sensory Stimulus

    • The number of brain stimulation research to treat the neurological disorder has been increased especially for the electrical brain stimulation area. However, sensory stimulation studies have not tried yet much although it has some merits like a shorter set time and user-friendly technique. Through this research, an optimal sensory stimulation technique considering multiple parameters of multiple modalities (such as visual, auditory and somatosensory) will be provided to modulate the brain activity or performance.

Optimizing Brain Stimulation

    • Even though brain stimulation could improve the functional ability of the brain, such as improvement of sleep quality and memory consolidation, it has been employed with less tuned stimulation parameters which are determined primarily by clinical experience. To provide the optimized and customized parameters, we propose the feedback system, which composed by the acquisition of bio-signal to classify the individual status and simulation to predict the stimulus effects and to propose optimized parameters.
